Service Point Search

Your library may have setup a Service Point (usually a group of Branches within a library) so that it has its own search option on a menu. This can be used for such things as the Childrens Library, Music Library, Video Library, etc. Selecting the search option on the menu will display a search screen similar to the Simple Search screen. Selections can be made for a Search Index, preferred Sorting Method, Records to display per page and the search can be limited by Collection and/or Material Type if required.

When the search is activated, the search results will be automatically filtered for that Service Point. The results will display on the normal Search Results page and from that point onwards the same functionality as for normal searches applies for viewing the records etc.

If Service Point searching is being used, the Browse Index function will restrict the display to terms that have material tied to it which exist in the nominated Service Point. For example, if you have selected Childrens Library as the Service Point to search, when the Browse Index screen is displayed (e.g. for closest matching entries if there are no direct hits) the entries listed will only include those applicable to that Service Point.
